Traditional Flat Built-Up Roofing

Built-up bitumen felt roofs use hot bitumen and high performance roofing felts. This is the most common type of flat roof system in the UK and can be used on a variety of surfaces on any size of roof.

Traditionally, this system used the pour and roll method where several layers of high-performance felt is rolled over the roof and is bound together by hot bitumen. Other methods are now available, such as the torching-on method and the use of single layer roofing membranes. Each of these methods offers a fully waterproof, thermally insulated, long-lasting flat roof solution with a flawless finish. 

Liquid Plastic

This is a high quality specialist product which provides a first class and very long lasting finish. William Rae (Aberdeen) Ltd is a QA contractor for liquid roofing products in the North East of Scotland.

There are two liquid roofing products available depending on your roofing requirements. The first is the Cold Applied Liquid Roofing which can be installed without a heat source. The second is the Hot Applied Liquid Roofing which requires heat from a bitumen boiler. Both methods provide a seamless and completely waterproof roofing solution which can be added on top of existing waterproof coatings. 

Single Ply Roofing

Single-ply roofing systems are prefabricated solutions which are often used for large roof areas. They are lightweight, flexible, easy to install and extremely durable. Like other roofing systems they are also fully waterproof, thermally efficient and cost-effective. 

Roof Lighting

William Rae (Aberdeen) Ltd installs roof lights to provide your property with natural light to brighten up the interior of your property. This reduces the need for artificial lighting and therefore minimizes energy costs and CO2 emissions. The roof lights are also very secure and are fitted with special seals to keep heat in. 

Asbestos Encapsulation

Why replace asbestos roofing when it may be more cost effective and safer to encapsulate it? We can provide a specialist product designed to match the profile of asbestos roofing and effectively allow the roof to be re-covered. We are the only company approved to provide this system in the North East of Scotland.
